KOTONOHA (言の葉) is a poetic Japanese word that means “leaves of words.”
It beautifully symbolizes the power of language, the art of expression, and the growth of communication. Just as leaves help a tree grow and flourish, we believe that words—when nurtured—help minds expand and cultures connect. At KJLTC, we bring this essence into every class we offer.
Mr. Renya Kikuchi is the Chairman of KJLTC and a pioneer in STEM Robotics education using LEGO® as a learning tool. He promotes global educational innovation through SCCIP Japan, in India, Sri Lanka, Thailand, the U.S. and the Maldives. Recognizing the growing demand for Japanese-speaking Indian professionals, he established KJLTC. The center equips students with Japanese language and cultural skills for Japan-related careers. His efforts advance international education and cross-cultural exchange.
Ms. Shalini Walia, Founder of KJLTC, brings over 14 years of experience in Japanese language education, trained by native instructors. She developed strong linguistic and cultural expertise through her work with Japanese organizations. Starting her career at the Consulate-General of Japan in Bangalore, she gained firsthand insight into Japanese work culture.
She later promoted Japanese universities to Indian students as a Higher Education Counsellor at the University of Tokyo India Office. Her career reflects a deep commitment to cross-cultural education and collaboration.
She is a language trainer and the Creative Head at KJLTC. She is a certified Origami instructor, celebrated for her innovative approach to teaching Japanese. By blending art, culture, and interactive techniques, she transforms language learning into a fun, engaging, and meaningful experience.
An avid anime enthusiast, she constantly finds creative ways to connect with fellow anime fans—helping them learn and speak Japanese the right way, while deepening their understanding of the language as its use in real contexts.
Ms. Renuka Narayanaswami is an experienced Japanese language trainer specializing in curriculum development and online teaching. She started her career at Suzuki India, training engineers in basic Japanese for Japan assignments. She lectured at Christ University and Bangalore University, covering language, culture, and Kanji literacy while mentoring for Kanji Kentei certification.
In 2017, she was a guest lecturer at Georgia Tech on technical translation challenges. Her work focuses on promoting cross-cultural understanding through structured language education.
Dr. Takahiro Kato is a Professor of Indian Philosophy and Sanskrit Philology at the University of Tokyo. His research centers on classical Indian thought and Vedānta’s intellectual history. He earned his doctorate in Germany at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg in 2011. His academic roles span institutions in Japan and Germany, including Chubu University.
He also served as Director of the University of Tokyo India Office (2022–2024). Since 2025, he has been serving as an advisor to KJLTC, providing expert guidance on its planning and development.
